Ray Thomas

Raymond Thomas (29 December 1941 – 4 January 2018) was an English musician, singer and songwriter. He was best known as a founding member of the English progressive rock band the Moody Blues. His flute solo on the band's 1967 hit single "Nights in White Satin" is regarded as one of progressive rock's defining moments. In 2018, he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Moody Blues.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 29 -- Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy will be co-starred by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in "American Cavalcade,'' a panorama of American history from 1620 to the present, the studio announced today. George Froeschel and Arnold Phillips are writing the scenario from a screen story by Froeschel and Sidney Franklin has been named to produce the photoplay.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 28 -- Frankie Albert, All-America quarterback, who completed his last season of college football competition at Stanford this Fall, has been signed by Columbia to star in "The Spirit of Stanford." The studio will assign writers to the photoplay next week and production is scheduled to start in April, with the release planned for early next Fall.
