The Eastern Steamship Lines, Inc., announced yesterday that it had awarded the contract for two new ships, to be built at the cost of $3,500,000 each, to the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company. Work will be started at once, according to the shipbuilders, and the ships will be ready to enter the service in May and June, 1932.
